Ein mail aus der Türkei

Wir bekamen folgendes mail von einer Freundin aus der Türkei, die in der Linken der ÖDP aktiv ist und die Ereignisse der letzten Tage noch vor der Erstürmung des letzten Gefängnisses in Istanbul kurz schildert:

finaly the goverment refused to talk and make aggrement with the political prisoners and started operations in 20 prisons, where there were hunger strikes ... the official number of death is 17, but we are quite sure it is more than 30. the police entered the prisons, destroying the buildings, using guns, gas and everything to kill people inside. this is the biggest crime made to the left in turkish history. we are trying to organize street meetings everyday, but the right wing of our party and other leftish parties don’t want to join. police is very hard and they attack in every meeting. there is only one prison left, in which people are fighting against the police ...
